Default War/Necro vs Necro/War

Strategically... wouldn't War/Necro be better, because you can use a Warrior's heavier armor? What are the advantages of the latter? I seem to find the only reason I play an N/W is because my female toon looks reminds me of Juliya from Uranium...

You have more energy as a base from the Ne/W side.

One of the main perks of running a necro primary is soul reaping so that you can keep your energy pool full. You wouldn't get this from a Warrior primary.

W/N -
Pro: High armor. Strength attribute means more damage.
Con: Slightly smaller energy pool, less regen.

Conclusion: More damaging, absorbs damage better. Less energy with which to life steal.

N/W -
Pro: Soul Reaping is handy in PvE combat.
Con: Less armor. Soul Reaping is handy only in PvE combat.

Conclusion: Takes more damage, but steals more. Not so good at PvP for obvious reasons.

Make your own choice which one you prefer.

Soul reaping gives you energy when something around you dies.

The arguments stand at:

If it's one of their team mates that has died first in PVP, you've pretty much already won. You dont need the paltry amount of energy that it would give you.

IE: You'd be much better off dropping the points elsewhere.

However, to be honest, I'd be much more afraid of the N/W that knows what he's doing than a W/N. W/N is just mesmer bait. I just wouldnt put any points in reaping.

Actually, my argument is that there simply isn't as much actual death in general in PvP as compared to PvE.

True by the time the first people start to die, the match is close to over. But mostly, Soul Reaping comes in handy because there are so many mobs in general on PvE missions. If you were in a 60 player match it would probably be pretty damn handy to have.

An interesting point, but if you don't put them in Soul Reaping, is it a good idea to put them in strength, or disperse them throughout other necro abilities?

Holy $#!^ I love having this much strategy for an RPG! ^_^ Makes WoW looks so flawed.

Depending on if you want to be a team-healing wannabe-monk or a debuffing bastard, I'd balance them between one of the necro abilities and the warrior weapon. Your third's completely up to you.. Really depends on how much you want to tank.

The diffrence are

War/Necro: These *must* focus on the adrenal skills

Necro/War: Players choose this combo if they want to focuse more on magic skills

I play a Warrior/Necro, and my build is quite good. The only reason it is good is that it's the playstyle that I most enjoy. Chars can be worthless in some peoples hands, and can be down right nasty ( I mean that in the good way) in others.
